Barry GrovesDr. Barry Groves (Stanford Ed.D. '85) was the Superintendent of Schools for the Mountain View Los Altos High School District in California from 2006-2015. He currently serves as President of the ACS, Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Student achievement increased every year of his superintendent tenure and the high schools are ranked in the top 1% nationally by Newsweek and US News and World Report. Prior to his tenure with the Mountain View Los Altos High School District, Groves was Superintendent of Schools for the Cambrian School District for 14 years. He has also been a school principal, classroom teacher, coach, research assistant, and consultant. Groves’ honors include Honorary Service Award from the California State PTA in 2015, Champion for Youth 2015, Chairperson of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce in 2014, and Mountain View Businessman of the Year in 2013. He has worked internationally as a consultant. Groves serves on the boards of many local organizations and has been widely published.
