  • The 25 percent Latino students closed the academic achievement gap annually
  • Student achievement increased every year (2006 – 2015)
  • Passed Measure A general obligation bond with 78 percent approval
  • Shepherded innovative Freestyle Academy of Communication Arts and Technology
  • Worked with the MVLA Education Foundation to raise a record $1,500,000 in 2015
  • Awarded California Gold Ribbon Awards
  • All schools achieved the maximum six-year clear WASC accreditation
  • Schools offered 43 honors/Advanced Placement courses, 24 sports and over 80 student clubs
  • Added Career Technology Education classes and increased college counseling efforts
  • Managed fiscal resources to maximize property utilization, long-term deferred maintenance and facility plans, quality management service orientation and site-based budget process
  • Implemented a sustainability program honored as the Greenest Bay Area School District

  • Named Leadership District for the Bay Area School Reform Collaborative receiving grants of over $1,000,000 for continuous improvement efforts
  • Started and maintained four charter schools (one of the first in the county)
  • Increased student achievement an average of twenty national percentile points in fourteen years across all grades and subjects with excellent API improvements by all schools
